a new book-as-a-blog

I am launching a new book on the web, on 6 October 2010. The idea is to write regularly about freedom and human rights, inviting comments on the work as I go along. Then when I have all the comments in the material will be revised and published as a book early next year (2011) at LSE's third annual literary festival. More details to follow. What do you make of the idea?

Very much in the tradition of Dickens, Trollope, et al. Great idea! You've got me thinking now...

I'm in... Should feel like an online extension of many seminars we had in 2008-2009!

It is difficult to get lots of people contributing ideas to a project like this online over an extended period of time. I hope you get plenty of feedback. As someone who is interested both in the subject-matter of your book and in the method by which you are attempting to write it, I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Interesting idea. As Shakuntala says the difficult thing will be ensuring interest remains high through the whole project.

Having just read Twining's pleas for academic lawyers to engage with the public more widely, I started thinking about how exactly this might be achieved. I'm glad to see that waves are being made already! I wish you the best of luck!
